I am based in Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and I am crazy about beetles which are my hobby. However, as a multipurpose professional biologist I have been involved in nature conservation and environmental affairs, teaching Ecology, legal drafting, and other more or less related activities. Here you will have access to all my publications, documentaries, and further intellectual products. It is my intention to keep introducing additional information related mainly to Canarian Entomology (bibliography, catalogue of beetles, etc.), while also sharing my thoughts, pictures, and stories.
My full Spanish name is Antonio Machado Carrillo. The Machado family (father lineage) settled in Tenerife in 1497 with the Conquest, and the Carrillo family (mother lineage) in La Palma, around 1560. I was born in Madrid in 1953; I married my wife Chusy in 1976, and we have four fantastic children and three grandchildren. I smoke a pipe and love books.
